# Commands

> Flags, slash commands and keys in Line CLI.

## Flags

| Command | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `line` | Start the agent in the current folder |
| `line "prompt"` | Start with a prompt |
| `line -c` | Continue the last session in this folder |
| `line -y` | Start in auto mode (no approval prompts) |
| `line -m <model> -e <effort>` | Model and effort for this run: `supercosmos` (`flash`, `max`, `heavy`), or `auto` |
| `line models` | List models and their efforts |
| `line -p "prompt"` | Print mode: answer once and exit (for scripts) |
| `line login` / `line logout` | Sign in or out |
| `line status` | Account, model and version |
| `line mcp` | List configured MCP servers and their tools (`line mcp trust <name>` trusts a project server) |
| `line update` | Update to the latest version |
| `line skill …` | Manage [skills](/line/skills) |
| `line plugin …` | Manage [plugins](/line/plugins) |

## Slash commands

Type `/` in the TUI for an autocomplete popup.

| `/help` | All commands and keys |
| `/model` | Pick Auto or SuperCosmos (with its context window and size), then its effort |
| `/effort [name]` | Pick the effort: Flash, Max or Heavy |
| `/plan [task]` | Plan mode on/off: read-only research that ends in a plan to approve |
| `/mode ask\|accept-edits\|auto\|plan` | Permission mode (Shift+Tab cycles) |
| `/agents [n]` | Sub-agents: live status and this session's runs; `/agents <n>` shows one run's steps and report |
| `/diff [file] [split]` | This session's changes, unified or side by side |
| `/files` | Files changed this session, by turn and agent, with line counts |
| `/undo` | Revert the file changes of the last turn |
| `/rewind` | Go back to before an earlier prompt: files restored and the conversation cut there |
| `/bashes` | Background shells: list, output, kill |
| `/mcp` | MCP servers: status, tools, trust, reload |
| `/hooks` | Hooks: list and trust project hooks |
| `/todos` | Show the agent's current plan |
| `/context` | How much of the model's context window is in use, broken down |
| `/compact` | Summarize the conversation to free context |

Plugins add their own commands as `/<plugin>:<command>`. Type `@` to attach a project file to your message (secret files and files outside the project are skipped).

`/undo`, `/rewind` and `/diff` cover changes made through Line's file tools; side effects of shell commands aren't tracked.
