> Code Buckets is metered in tokens: 1,000,000 a month and 1 backup on every plan, with storage from 10 GB (Free) to 2 TB (Ultra).

## Tokens

A **Code Buckets token** is the unit of API usage:

| Action | Tokens |
| --- | --- |
| Any API request | 1 |
| File data uploaded (chunks) | 1 per MiB (rounded up per request) |
| File data downloaded (chunks, objects, `download=1` files) | 1 per MiB (rounded up per request) |

JSON request and response bodies (listing, previewing files, events) cost only the request token.

Examples:

- Listing projects: **1** token.
- Uploading a 100 MiB zip: 7 chunks → 7 requests + 100 MiB of data = **107** tokens, plus 2 for starting and completing.
- Downloading a 1 GB asset: about **1,025** tokens.

In the Console, browsing is free; data you upload or download there counts 1 token per MiB. Every API response includes an `X-Codebuckets-Tokens` header with what that request used.

## Plans

Code Buckets storage comes with your Clatter Labs [plan](/billing/credits):

| | Free | Developer | Plus | Pro | Max | Ultra |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Storage (all buckets) | 1 GB | 25 GB | 50 GB | 150 GB | 400 GB | 1 TB |
| Tokens | 1,000,000 per month | 1,000,000 per month | 1,000,000 per month | 1,000,000 per month | 1,000,000 per month | 1,000,000 per month |
| Backups | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| Largest bucket | 10 GB | 10 GB | 10 GB | 10 GB | 10 GB | 10 GB |

The month runs on the UTC calendar. When the month's tokens are used up, requests answer `402 quota_exceeded` until the next month. An upload that would go past your plan's storage answers `402 storage_full` in the Console. **Need more? [Contact us](https://help.clatterlabs.com/code-buckets/troubleshooting/cb-contact-support).**
